Santa in the Park

Last Sunday evening we went downtown to the park again. We were just going to walk around with two other families and let the kids play together when we saw Santa was there! We could take our picture with Santa for free. The line wasn't too long. Dylan kept pointing and saying something like "Du-ta" and he would say yes when I asked if he was saying "Santa." Here's a picture Steven took of him looking up at Santa from the line. I love his big brown eyes, don't you?He seemed interested. Well, see for yourself. I was NOT planning on being in the picture. We were not dressed very festively and it's not a flattering shot of anyone but Santa who thought it was pretty funny. Dylan is scared of too many things. If a new friendly face looks at him, he is likely to cling to me and start crying. The other Dylan's dad said that at least I don't have to worry about him wandering off with strangers. What did I do to raise such a crybaby? Steven said Dylan wins the Crybaby award. Steven is also going to start saying "Do you want Santa to have to come?" as a threat instead of as an incentive like most parents.

Now that's hilarious--threatening a kid that Santa IS going to come if he keeps misbehaving! Dylan's going to have some pretty funny stories to tell when he's all grown up and he and his friends are sitting around talking about whose childhood was the strangest. :P

Hey, you commented from facebook, didn't you. Tell Matt he can do the same. I just added more posts. He's quite content w/ that park when there's no Santa, the Christmas lights are turned off and the sunshine is up. It was just us in the whole big park.
