my mom's birthday - dinner and desert

Happy birthday to my mom!  We went to dinner where the kids each wrapped a random toy to give to her.  They made her cards (with Paige's help while I was at work.)  They were very excited for her to open the gifts:)  Then they were just excited to be alive and were wiggly all over that bench!  Until Steven had them play the quiet game - which Isaac is VERY good at it turns out.  No smiling or anything, it's a serious game! 

Then we went to the Candy Kitchen, the close one.  My mom bought these big wax lips for my boys.  Steven and I shared a killer sundae, of course.  My grandma was liking all of the vintage candies.  Good choice, Mom!

Thank you Steven! For taking note of me acting like Dylan saying "I want THAT for my birthday" when I saw these in a magazine.  These hand painted beauties are delicious! 

Steven told me once that the "you can't have your cake and eat it too" is meant to be the other way around, and makes more sense like "you can't eat your cake and have it too." 

Maybe that was before cameras.

I have eaten some already, and will have these pictures to remember how fun their hand painted designs were.

I was so happy that he had me open this present last night before the kids could see:)

Then Steven got me running clothes, french toast, OJ, eggs, and took a half day of work to bring me Moe's and go swiming with us.  Happy Birthday to me!
