A Festivus for the rest of us!

Steven and his group of friends like Sinfield and quote it regularly. Each year we have a Festivus party to celebrate the made up holiday that George's family celebrates on Sinfield. We have made a couple of traditions. There's an airing of grievences, a feats of strength, and an aluminum pole.

Basically the feats of strength is an egg nog challenge. The looser has to repeat it the next year against someone else. Steven has been in the challange every year and will be again next year. The boys and an occasional girl writes grievences down on post-it notes and sticks them to the pole. Later someone will peal and read aloud each put down. It's not nice stuff that's said, but occasionally something is funny.

We also do an anonymous gift exchange where gifts can be traded a max of 3 times. Some gifts are great, some feelings get hurt when gifts get stolen or made fun of, and some gifts get re-gifted. We do this as if it's a Christmas party since we only have one party. Last year we also celebrated Darren's birthday and Steven's law school graduation. Luiz flew in town for Festivus. I don't think he'll ever do that again. He opened a good gift, but it got stolen and he got stuck w/ Boggle. He was NOT amused.

EVERCorrie is 36 weeks, I'm 32 weeks, and Malarie is barely showing. NOW you can't say that you don't see that my face is "filling out."
