Perfect

I really love my house. The weather is almost cooling down so I can leave the boys outside while I make white chicken chili. Yea, that's right, I cooked again. (Thanks for the recipe that I almost remembered all of the ingredients for, Kat.)
Anyway, Don't you just love this back yard?! I could have put the hose away, and oops I left a towel out from when Dylan and Malia went swimming on Wednesday. I can keep the babies on one side of the fence while the older 2 swim. They asked if they could go swimming and I said why not. They can go in by themselves. I didn't even get in my swimsuit. (Neither did they.) I figure I can jump in in my clothes if needed. Malia and Dylan can swim on their own though. I just have to be on the deck, but not arms reach any more. Life is getting easier :) Here they are baking a cake. Malia was very particular about the ingredients. "No, not too much water, Dylan! This is MY cake!" Isaac and Noah can explore the back yard and love the change of scene. Who needs the park? So, friends and blog readers, you're totally invited over!

Picking Pumpkins

We've been to the pumpkin patches 3 times so far. I'm not feeling guilty about not posting here b/c I'm working on my blog book for 2007 since 2008 is almost up already. So here's one picture for ya. The rest are on a web album (click here). Can you believe these are our kids?! Kirsten's a witch. I wish I got a better picture of her costume. It's really cool and hand made. Steven asked Dylan what Malia was and he said "She's a boo-fly." She has wings, so I guess that's where he got the idea that she's a butterfly. Matt and Danny are cute puppy dogs. Dylan's a gorilla and Isaac's a monkey like Dylan was 2 years ago. Little Noah is a turtle. My friend's adorable daughter, Caroline, was with us too, she's in the slide show.

Boys Take Over the Kitchen

We all know that I'm not going to be the great chef of the family any time soon. Dylan will make a good chef. He's very detailed with placing the ingredients. He made this pizza all by himself. I love how he spread the sauce then poked each ingredient into it then patted the cheese pile down. He was very careful.
He made his personal wheat tortillia pizza for himself too.

Isaac will load the dish washer . . .
all by himself, and WITH himself. "Hi Mom, I'm fine, go back to whatever you were doing"
Isaac likes to go to the dirty dishes as I load them so I have resorted to taking the bottom rack out and loading it up on the counter then putting it back in the dish washer. I guess I left the dish washer open anyway. I have to keep my eye on this guy. At least he's happy discovering things w/o me. My arms are getting a welcome break, now that he can crawl.

Midnight Magic

Magically, this stuff gets done overnight. In stead of wishing there were more hours in the day, I just stay up late. I'm not always in the mood to loose sleep, so these projects have taken a while to complete. I'm pretty happy with the results though. We got estimates for window treatments in our living room. It was over $500. Steven was ready to have them come out to our house for a more accurate custom estimate. I told him that I could beat that price and we could save (yea right) for a camera. I warned him that they would probably look home made, but we agreed. I ordered fabric for a different project from fabric.com (thanks for that tip, Lacey) and Steven liked it more than all of the examples from the drapery store we were looking through. It actually matches the walls and has blue in it for the couches. I made some pillows (and will make more, I just moved them for the pics) from a cheap table runner that I liked. It had tassels on it and I repositioned it. Way cheaper than buying the fabric and tassels! I'm going to make more pillows from the curtains' fabric b/c Steven thinks it'll tie the room together:) I learned an easy way to do pinch pleats in the curtains, something that a well-rounded mom would like. These curtains don't close, but we decided we didn't need them to close ever. So the cost of curtains was $72. Oh, then the tie back tassels were expensive, they were $14 each, but I had to have something so it looks like they are supposed to be open-always. One more thing. They look short, but I kinda did that on purpose so I can vaccuum without worry. If it bothers me, I can let the hem out.

The fabric (chocolate truffle or something yummy sounding, our paint colors are all foods too)Darren built us this entertainment center. He did a good job, don't you think?! What should I put on it under the TV? A set of candles on a tray thingy? more pictures? (I'm kidding about that.) Nothing? I put our wedding scrap book on it.
I also covered the mats and framed some of the spaghetti pics. Steven wants retakes, but this will do 'til we're rich.
I already showed these curtains I made for the play room, but look at the cute silhouettes that Lacey did for me! Don't you just love them?! I do. They match the play room perfectly too - primary colors and the same green and light blue! They're good Christmas gifts, or even birthday gifts.
Just another example of Lacey's handiwork. Just like I imagined/ordered!

More Spaghetti Mess

Steven: "Tiffany, look what the boys are getting into!"
Me: "I know, I'm getting the camera!"

Uncles on the beach

My brother stayed w/ us for the weekend. He likes to sleep, but lucky for me, he can still babysit while sleeping.
On Saturday we went to the beach. We ate first. It's a good restaraunt for my kids b/c it's okay for Dylan to play under the table.
And for Isaac to play with his food (a tomato) Dylan wanted to be like his Uncle JT on the skim board
JT skimmed circles around us
while Dylan jumped over the waves
Dylan gave skimming one try. He fell off and had me kiss his bottom. See him holding his little tushy in this clip?

He only tried it once, so JT continued.
Isaac gave it a try, but I'm not sure he has any leg muscles under his fat rolls yet. Dylan climbed back on b/c he thought it was safe too.
He trusted his uncle to take him for rides out in the water splashing over the little waves
and gliding out ahead
Lucky for Dylan, he has two uncles who live here We had fun on land too

Uncle Andre and Steven played paddle ball when they joined us after hanging out w/ the other cool people
Isaac hung out with me
They both got sandy, of course
Even though we went with Steven and uncles, I still manage to not have enough hands to carry everything. This was a self portrait. Not flattering, but it makes me smile. This is how I roll.

Hit and Run

I'm not sure if Steven or these boys taught Dylan how to run after hitting the ball, but this was the first time I saw it. He'll stand there 'til he really hits it.

Now running the bases is a different story.

On a different note, I actually exceeded the storage limit for pictures on this blog. Can you believe that?! It holds up to 4,000 "regular" size photos. I took over 1000 in September, not counting our photo shoot with Aunt Robin. This blog is free, and the Picasa web albums are free, so I'm going to pay to get 10 times more storage. That should last me for a while. I think it's worth it. Somehow it lets me upload videos still. That's wierd, don't you think?

Fun Feger Family Photos

My Aunt Robin is a great photographer. She has won photo contests for lots of still (and moving life.) She has started doing families and I'm so glad! We got Steven's side of the family together for some family pictures. These are some of my favorites.

We took some of the different groups. I loved this time because everybody was ballancing and laughing. We created good pictures and even better memories.
Here's one of our family with the boys' Abuelita. Aunt Robin took some family pictures of our little family of 4 but I'm going to hold onto those in case I want to use them for Christmas card pictures. You'll see them soon enough I'm sure.
I was just getting started with the pictures, but it is dificult with such a big group of people. I was the only one who could have gone 'til the sun went down. The boys got more giggly so we could have had some fun shots. By boys, I dont mean Steven. He was a good sport though. He didn't complain about me scheduling a photo shoot at all! Maybe I'm rubbing off on him:)

So, if you want family photos, she's available!

Need your own pictures for Christmas cards, birthdays, babies, parties, the heck of it?

Email me and I'll hook you guys up.

Thank you Aunt Robin!!!!!!!!

The Proper Way

In case you were wondering, this is how to eat a red popsicle on a hot summer day, if you're a 2yr old boy. Then you must go swimming. Now you know.

snails, smoothies, brown eyes

This is the most beautiful park for being so small. First of all I'd like to say that Isaac can drink from a straw. I started putting my finger over the top then intermittently releasing it as I dangled it into his mouth. This is easier, but now he lunges for my smoothies! This one's organic, not a protein-banana-mistake one.
There are a couple of fountains. Not sure what Dylan was laughing at here, but I'm glad I have a picture of it.
Dylan goes over to give Isaac random hugs a lot throughout the day.
He's such a good big brother.

We walked over to the pond. Dylan wanted to see if he could see any fishies. He spotted a snail! So he picked it up to get an even better look.
He's a strong kid, look at those muscles! My Grandpa Rebeck used to ask my brothers to see their muscles all the time. Dylan will say "I'm frong, this hod." (I'm strong, this [is] hard.) He'll knock on his muscles to show me they're hard. He knows he's not as strong as Daddy though.

Then he asked me "why" we didn't go over to the other park with the slides. The light isn't as good over there and there are too many distractions.
