Good Daddy

We went to Busch Gardens last week. Steven took the day off to take us there b/c his pass will expire soon and he knew we needed a staycation. We had a day of fun.
There should really be more flamingos around.

Dylan could really push on the screen to touch this big lizzard guy
Dylan is old enough to really like the kid rides. He rode some with Daddy.
And some with Mommy.
He played with Isaac some.
But was thrilled to go on some by himself.
Pure happiness
I thought he'd be scared on this airplane ride, but he wasn't!
I got Isaac out while we waited for Dylan and Steven to go on one ride. He had gotten pricked on his toes for Iron testing that morning. They had to prick him twice because it was a bad reading the first time. The 2nd prick told us he's A-ok.Dylan went on Stanley Falls with Steven. (I think that's the name.) Dylan was so scared on it. Mean Daddy. I don't think I would even want to go down it.

See the splash and tear drops on his face? He forgave Steven.
Profiles
The animals are a fun part of this park. We could spend days and days here.
Dylan's not too pleased with me posing hif for pictures.
Isaac and Dylan were DONE by the time we left even though it wasn't that long.

Isaac walks the line

My friend Emmy saw a onesie that read "I crawl the line" with a little guitar and we both liked it. I'm not sure our other friends got it at first. It was a little expensive for me, especially since Dylan had just taken his first step the night before. That was when Dylan was 11 months old. We were in Texas with my old room mates from BYU. (I miss you guys.) Anyway, I didn't know how to make the onesie myself for Isaac and make it look presentable and now I'm missing that window of opportunity because this little guy . . .

took his FIRST STEPS today!!!!!

He has been standing for a while, but would bend his knees and put his hands on the floor when he wanted to move. It was so cute and I was so excited. He actually took two steps in a row the first time. Then he did 3 steps right after because he knew I needed that verification. I tried my hardest to get it on video, but he was too excited and kept lunging or dancing towards the camera. Steven came home and Isaac walked to him too! Even together we haven't captured it, but I wanted to post the news anyway. AAAAAw, my little baby. My sore back is ready for him to walk on his own two feet, so bring it ON!
Oh, and here're some pictures of Dylan when he could stand on his own. These are from when Dylan was 11 months old. (Isaac started 3 months earlier with the standing trick.) I had to leave you with some pictures.

Yes, that was taken in a bathroom on a changing table (at church). I realized that he looked so cute in Zac's sweater though and he was happy and awake, so I didn't want to miss the chance to remember it. I'm glad I did b/c he fell asleep or got too hot or something so this is the only picture I have of him looking so cute. Amber gave him his cute real hair cut too.

Did you seriously read this whole post? Sorry, it was mainly for me Ü

Baby of Mine

Dear Isaac,

Now you've been outside of my tummy for as long as you were inside of it. You're 9 months old. You change so much in 9 months.

You can copy sounds and gestures. You recognize your name. You know you're not supposed to go up the stairs yet make a bee line for the top when the gate is down. You laugh, squirm, and move even faster when I say I'm going to getcha. You push up to a standing position at every chance you get. You can walk around things like the coffee table or holding onto my fingers or a push toy. You like to dance and clap. You shake and nod your head when we do. You love to play with toys and to entertain yourself all day. You can even push buttons on toys so they sing to you. You can eat lots of new things now but go crazy for water when you see me or Daddy drinking it. You can chew lots of foods and suprise me with what you can eat. Today you ate fresh pineapple and it was still pretty big chunks. If you can't chew something, you savor it in your mouth. You seem to know not to try to swallow something that could gag you. Good job! You're a picky eater and the food you dispise is squash. Fresh fruits are your favorites.

You are still my sweet little baby and some things are still the same. You love it outside. You still love your swing. We took it over to Corrie's house when we lived at Maria's house because we didn't have room for it. I didn't have the heart to take it back because that's the only place you sleep over at her house. I finally decided to bring it home with me. You're in it right now. You love to nurse and get jealous when I go have fun and leave you behind. You are so kissable all over and even Dylan likes to give you little squeezes and hugs. Your hair is feathery soft. It's a really light brown that has some blonde in it. The above picture is of tou at 8 months then the below one is from a couple of days ago (9 months). He has his Frankenstein "Frankly, I'm Cute" onesie on for the month of October.

Your measurements:
weight: 21lbs, 5oz between percentile 50 and 75
height: 29-3/4" between percentile 75 and 90
head circumfrence:17-7/8" between percentile 25 and 50
(I forgot to ask what percentiles, so I looked it up on babycenter.com)

I love you little baby of mine!

Softball Saturday

We took Maria to watch Gabrielle play softball. She pitches! We had wanted to go see her before, but it's been too hot. This is what I get for interrupting Dylan and his cousin Coby when they're having fun playing. Coby is younger than Dylan, can you believe it?

Poor Isaac seems to be looking at me saying "save me." The cool thing is that Steven went over to put Isaac's hat back on and totally saved Isaac from getting hit with a foul ball. Steven's butt blocked it! People were congratulating him on a good game and a good save even after the game was over. Such good timing!

Then we drove to all have lunch at a Spanish restaurant. It's one of those holes-in-the-wall that you gotta stop at if you're in the area. Maria's picky, and she lOves it.

Trick Or Treating

We took Dylan and Isaac to go trick or treating. We first took them to see their Abuelita. We just spent 3 min there then Steven took her to the store. When he got home, we were all ready with flash lights and Dollar Store glow sticks. We stayed low key and only went to 5 houses. It would be more fun to go with a group of people or to knock on friends' doors, but we had our whole month of Halloween fun. The grand finale was restful and not rushed. We just went so that Dylan and Isaac could wear their costumes again and so I could get some pictures. Dylan was scared to go to a couple of houses. He walked the whole time, and Steven carried Isaac and waited on the side walk for us. We were gone about 20 minutes.

Dylan really said Trick or Treat then thank you. When we got home, he ate a piece. Isaac is going for his banana in his costume's pocket. It was a good Halloween month and night.

Preschool Pumpkin Party

I made this Happy Harvesting card for Dylan's class mates. I made little treat bags with candy, raisins, fun straws, cheapo glow sticks, and little bugs and critters toys, oh and maybe I put a spider ring in there before I tied them to the above picture. The preschool is in/at a church and I don't think they were supposed to say Happy Halloween because Dylan's teacher said "oops" after inviting us to their Halloween party. She then called it the Harvest Party. It was on Halloween. Corrie and I have that day off so we took the kids even though they don't usually go to school then. It was a little carnival - so cute.

Dylan got a green pumpkin painted on his face.
and caught a big fish!
He also pinned the nose on a pumpkin.
Isaac and Noah liked hanging out with the big kids too.

We got smoothies after because Malia had a good week at preschool. She started having a hard time going, so the teacher suggested making a reward chart so that she could earn a prize for not crying. Dylan has liked school from the start, so the smoothie wasn't really a reward for him. He got one b/c he's spoiled. Noah and Isaac slept in their matching car seats on the other table.

Happy 2nd Birthday Angier!

Angier had a costume party for his birthday party. It was fun. Isaac loves being a monkey. He's a natural:)
Angier gave a concert to his guests.
I love how Corrie's kids are the blurry ones here.
The kids sat on the Halloween table cloth and ate dinner. Isaac made this half of a roll dissapear. Seriously, it took him a while, but his 4 little teeth and lots of slobber downed it!Instead of making a mess with cake and ice cream, they brought out the balloons.

Fun times
After the zoo, we went to the beach while we waited for Jake and Brent. It was cool weather that day, but really sunny. I liked the tracks that Isaac made in the sand when he crawled around to get to the best sand to graze on. I should start a collection of the shells that Isaac collects. I have pulled many from his slobbery soft warm mouth.
I can't get enough of Isaac standing. He has started walking while holding onto my hands. He doesn't take the initiative, but he sure loves to pull up to a standing position. This beach has a weird yellow fat sand bag. The hurricanes have eroded this beach so I think this thing is supposed to keep the beach in place. Dylan liked climbing on it.

We bought this fleece (sweat shirt) for Dylan when we visited Washington D.C. when he was in my tummy. It was the smallest size. It has been hanging in his closet ever since. It finally fits him. It's appropriate how it reads "Future President" for this election season.
