Julia's Many Easter Dresses

Barbie took Easter photos of Julia and Clara with so many details including the perfect green grass and background, bunny ears, baskets, colorful eggs, hair bows, and she let Julia use one of Clara's dresses too! But that's not all...

Julia started standing by herself! And I don't mean standing by letting go of a table to stand for a second or 15 like she had the night before once, she can get herself from sitting to standing! Oh my goodness! 

Barbie sent me a text with a baby in a pink dress and bunny ears standing and I assumed it was Clara. I was at work so didn't have a chance to really look at my phone. Then I saw it was Julia! Wow! Then, after work, when I looked again, I saw it was a video! What a happy surprise.

On Saturday, Daddy, Darren, Andre, and their friend Danielle won a volleyball tournament! We stopped at Martin's Farm right by there for some photos with baby chicks. Julia wasn't afraid at all. 

 They held a duckling too.

 The night before, it was already getting late/dark, but I wanted some photos in my mom's pretty back yard of Julia for Easter. So I had this dress.

 On Friday, I decided we should have our own Easter Egg hunt w/ church and other friends. It was a hit! AND Martin and Katy drove from Charlotte, NC to come too! They surprised our parents by walking in the front door at 6:30am that morning. (We had so much fun with them, running, egg hunting, playing at the beach, and hanging out with them at Mom's.)

But her real Easter dress is this one from my friend from work, Jessica. She gave it to me for Julia's baby shower. She doesn't work there any more, but I knew this was going to be Julia's Easter dress when I first saw it. It's perfect! In fact, this morning, I saw another like 7 year old wearing the exact dress for Easter! Her mom said it was a hammy down too. We went to the Botanical Gardens to take photos after the 2nd session of conference on Saturday evening. We got to stay after close b/c there was a wedding going on there.

And today, the actual Easter, I was out of ideas and we were just hanging at the park and inside watching Conference, and having dinner at my mom's, so she wore this. 

Oral Cancer Walk (and 5K run)

I'm the Pinellas County Dental Hygiene Association president, so occasionally you'll see oral health related posts like this one.  My friend Kimmeuy just graduated, but has done most of the prep work as a student - amazing!

awareness walk. 

Did you know that Oral Cancer is often called the silent killer?  By the time it's found, it's often too late.  This is a fund raiser with free oral cancer screenings and we will not only raise money for the Oral Cancer Foundation, but we will raise your awareness.
We're doing a competitive 5K with awards for age groups (we'll take your age when you sign in), and a fun 1 mile walk/run.  We decided that kids should be free.  Leashed pets are also welcome!  There's no excuse not to go:)  You can buy extra Tshirts (since this IS a fund raiser) for $10 for the kids or people who just want to go to the health fair part or for souvenirs.  ALL of the proceeds will go to the Oral Cancer Foundation. 

So, we're looking for participants, but more importantly, we're also looking for big sponsors!  And for vendors who want to give freebies in the goodie bags or treats etc.  Even a friend who owns some Dunkin' Donuts stores is going to provide coffee and/or bagels and/or donuts for us.  At first I thought that a donut place would be ironic for this, but now I see that anybody could be involved!

We're looking for other health care providers to set up a table to offer other screenings or just pass out their pamphlets.  We're looking for people who want to sponsor with money for their names to be on the shirts, bags, banners, etc.  Do you know of anybody?  Do you want to participate?

Isaac walks the line

My friend Emmy saw a onesie that read "I crawl the line" with a little guitar and we both liked it. I'm not sure our other friends got it at first. It was a little expensive for me, especially since Dylan had just taken his first step the night before. That was when Dylan was 11 months old. We were in Texas with my old room mates from BYU. (I miss you guys.) Anyway, I didn't know how to make the onesie myself for Isaac and make it look presentable and now I'm missing that window of opportunity because this little guy . . .

took his FIRST STEPS today!!!!!

He has been standing for a while, but would bend his knees and put his hands on the floor when he wanted to move. It was so cute and I was so excited. He actually took two steps in a row the first time. Then he did 3 steps right after because he knew I needed that verification. I tried my hardest to get it on video, but he was too excited and kept lunging or dancing towards the camera. Steven came home and Isaac walked to him too! Even together we haven't captured it, but I wanted to post the news anyway. AAAAAw, my little baby. My sore back is ready for him to walk on his own two feet, so bring it ON!

Oh, and here're some pictures of Dylan when he could stand on his own. These are from when Dylan was 11 months old. (Isaac started 3 months earlier with the standing trick.) I had to leave you with some pictures.

Yes, that was taken in a bathroom on a changing table (at church). I realized that he looked so cute in Zac's sweater though and he was happy and awake, so I didn't want to miss the chance to remember it. I'm glad I did b/c he fell asleep or got too hot or something so this is the only picture I have of him looking so cute. Amber gave him his cute real hair cut too.

Dancing Santa Baby

Isaac likes standing, but has such funny ballance. I couldn't stop laughing the 1st time, then I had to get it on video. Looking back, he was wearing red overalls and looks like the dancing Santa, don't you think?

The Friendship Trail Bridge

(This post is from October 5th but I was searching for old pics before posting it.)

This used to be my favorite place to go running. Before I was even pregnant w/ Dylan I'd run all the way to Tampa and back accross it.

THEN after I had Dylan, Corrie and I were both on maternity leave at the same time so we walked off our baby fat on this bridge. Then we worked our way up to jogging.

I haven't been on it in a long time. I used to love to sweat and would run in the middle of the day. Now I don't get up early ever and it's been way too hot go go to the bridge. There's no shade there!

Corrie had the idea to go on Monday since she didn't have to be at work 'til later that day and it wasn't not steaming hot out. We didn't even try to go running b/c we're both big and my groin tendons or something get sore just walking. On the way back we let the kids out. They only walked/ran/danced/jumped like 1/8th of a mile, but b/c they zig-zagged and back tracked, they got their own little mini work outs. Corrie and I went about a 5K!

I couldn't find the pictures of the babies on the bridge from a year ago, but this is close enough. This is Corrie, Candice, and me w/ our babies. Dylan was almost 1-1/2 months old here in the snuggly under the blankie. It was a cool day in March.

Late Morning Stroll

We got off to a late start on our morning walk. It was already almost lunch time. I decided to leave the stroller at home since the park isn't far away. I SHOULD have walked outside and realized that it was over 90 degrees outside. That one cool evening tricked me. Malia and I had jeans on!

Walking there wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't stopped to smell the roses AND watch every kitty cat dissapear and every grass hopper jump away AND every truck pass by. We also had some potential kodak moments I had to capture. Our faces were red and our heads were sweaty. I just wanted to play with sidewalk chalk in the shade.

Blowing kisses goodbye

I felt so bad on the way back when the babies were tired and hungry. They kept saying "up, up, up." Malia was crying b/c she was so tired of walking. I picked them both up and carried them on either side of my big tummy for a little over a block. My arms would have given out if I had tried it any longer. I'm not as strong as I think I am. We held hands the rest of the way home so that I could hold them up.

I didn't know if I should feed the sweaty babies first or bathe them first. So I did both. I gave them bites of food in their bubble bath. They gladly went right to sleep after I wore them out. I did too!
