My baby girl is growing up

Julia has been ready to potty train for like a year it feels. So I'm really doing it. With me, no diapers. I ran out! (Not really.) the diaper bag was out of them when I went to change her diaper at violin so I told her we were out. Julia found one at home. It wax a dry used one. So she slept in it. The next day, it was wet, so it went in the trash. Julia went to drop off the boys, a volunteer breakfast, then to drop off tyler before she had to go potty. We went to Grandpa's house and she went potty. Then she lasted all of field day. She went potty in her potty chair then took a nap. Dry. Steven found a diaper for her while I went to a team building thingy at work but it came off, dry, when I got home. She slept in s diaper and wire one with Steven on Saturday, but none all day today! We woke up before the sun did and went to the beach to cheer Steven on. He did the swim in a triathlon relay. Julia fell asleep in the sling on the long walk back to the car and stayed dry and sleeping until we got to church. (We had gone home to put church clothes on but she took the sacrament in her swimsuit.) I took her potty and put her dress on and and re-stocked the bathrooms with toilet paper. (The Gladys Knight show was the night before.) she went to nursery with no diaper and took a nap and stayed dry and went to Everett's party and played and played and went potty there twice. She even let Steven take her! So now she is nursing and napping on me. I love it. I feel like she is growing up just fine. She speaks really well, sings, even knows face body parts in Spanish, leaves her pacifiers in her bed, and I am not quite ready to give up nursing. I nourish her. My energy flies to her. We love it. It is hippy or weird or something to mist, but to me, it's more than natural, it is life-giving, healthy, binding, cute, and amazing that I even still have milk and that she loves it still.

Potty training at 18 months?!

Julia wants to pee on the potty already. So odd. It started after she was so constipated and #2 really hurt when it finally cane out. So she was scared to go the next couple of times. I helped her on the potty and think she liked being held. That was like a month ago. I thought it would be a quick phase but she says "poop" and does the sign language to go. Yes, I am the one who put Tyler's undies on her today, but only bc it is a pain strapping and unstrapping diapers. I don't want her to figure out how to undo them but do want her to figure out going potty by herself. She can sirta put pants on so may as well help. She tells me when and we run to the toilet. Easy. She did get the undies wet twice today, but said "wet" and we ran so she could finish. No puddles. She stopped when she noticed! I am not ready and tried saying "just go in your diaper " when we were watching the glass blowing 2 weekends ago but she insisted. So yea, only diapers at nap time/night time!
Ih. And I love FL in December.

Potty training

I'm not ready to go all in yet, but Tyler can pull off and on his undies and shorts, can climb up on the toilet, and knows when he needs to go. He likes to FaceTime his Aunt Kat and cousin Baby Sadie while going. When we are home, he wears undies. He does not have the desire to try new potties unfortunately so he may be going in the grass a lot when we are out.
My pool boy is cuter than your pool boy!
He picked out undies at the store. He has a variety now.
Potty dance!
He gets a "potty treat" when he goes. And gets a big treat if he poops in the potty. Like a lollipop.
He put his diaper on his puppy.
Ivy wears underwear here too. She came and told me she had pooped. Gross. In Tyler's underwear. Corrie tried potty training her months ago but Ivy refused to poo in the potty and still does. She would scream when I put her on the toilet. We gave up. Now I am just letting her play along. She likes the new potty treats. The Reese's Pieces did nothing for her so I added gummy bears. Tyler knows his colors and usually picks two orange Reese's Pieces.
Tyler, if he has shorts on, will ask me if he has a diaper on or not. That is my cue to rush him to the potty. He does not want to have an accident, especially not poo. He will go in the potty or diaper for that. He has had one accident. It surprised him and was on the tile luckily.

Potty Party

While I was getting Malia dressed, Dylan stood up and was begging me to help him get down. He was laughing and almost dancing. It was so funny, but I didn't know how to take a picture of the naked boy. This is what I came up with. It was so funny. You had to be there. This picture is for me I guess, not you, but I had to share it.

Clark Kent

I got Dylan these Superman PJs b/c my brothers used to LOVE them. They'd cry if they lost the cape that velcros on.

"up UP and AWAY!"
Then I thought it was too cute the way Dylan was staring right up to watch his daddy change our A/C air filters. He wants to be a big boy!

I don't have any pictures of this, but today Dylan did the potty sign to me. I figured he wanted me to change his dirty diaper since he had done that like 3 times before. The diaper was dry, so I asked if he wanted to go potty. He said yes. He waited a couple of seconds to concentrate then went pee pee in the big potty!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so proud! He was proud too. He asked for a multi vitamin as his reward. He hadn't had one today so I gave it to him. When I'm serious about potty training him I'll find some sort of consistant reward for him, but that worked! An hour later I was going to give him a bath and his diaper was still dry! I sat him on the potty and he went again!!!!!!!!! What a big boy!
My winning streak of using that same diaper ended later when I smelled it. Oh well. He went pee pee on the potty once more before I changed his diaper for bed. I'm not going to work on this actively, but I'll put him on his potty before bath time etc. My plan is to wait 'til after the baby comes b/c I've heard to wait 'til after 2yrs old and that he will want to go back and be the baby when the new baby comes. I don't want it to be more work for Corrie OR for him to wear a diaper some days and not others. That would send mixed signals.
But I'm happy! No pictures of this accomplishment, but you can imagine my excitement to see that he knows how to control it a little!!

Chairs

I need to get Dylan his own special chair.

He likes to back up and sit on a lap when someone he knows is sitting on the floor. If I leave the tray off of his high chair, he'll climb up there and sit. I found him resting on the couch yesterday and taped it b/c he's just so sweet sometimes. (This is a poor quality video b/c it's with an old back-up camera).

I brought out the potty chair for him to sit on - may as well. I figure he could watch his favorite movie - Finding Nemo*. He was happy with the arrangement. That potty is still clean although his blanket got wet and had to go right in the wash. I'm not really trying to potty train, but thought if he wants a chair to sit on, it wasn't being used. The funny thing now is that he requests his potty when I turn on Nemo but he tries to climb on it and jump off and he's not good at sticking the landing. (I don't keep it in the living room.)
I just noticed how dysfunctional this looks. He doesn't have a shirt on in the video then doesn't have pants on in the picture. Oh well.
*He doesn't watch Nemo ALL day long. I let him watch it first thing in the morning b/c he requests it as soon as he opens his eyes then when he's winding down before bed time.

Silly mommy

Dylan knows and can do the signs for milk, eat, (kinda does water or drink but usually uses eat and points to his sippy cup), all done, more, ball, blanket, and airplane. I want him to know the sign for potty now. He actually can do it but he doesn't know what I'm getting at. He just laughs b/c I'm happy when he does it. The other day I thought he was going potty in his diaper so I rushed him to his potty seat. I was too late and Dylan thought it was the funnyest thing that I actually think he's ready to be potty trained.
He really doesn't care if he's dirty or wet. He doesn't seem to mind. I mind so he gets changed right away. It would be nice if he could make the association with the sign and he would possibly do it before and would tell me that it was time to go potty.
Sorry to all of my friends who don't care about potty time. I'll upload the video soon.
