7-11

It's 7-11
So 7-11 stores give free slurpees!
I went to pick up my boys from Corrie's and went to the 7-11 there and parked next to the missionaries! They went in to refill their cups with my boys. Tyler had his first sip of a slurpee. I didn't give him much b/c I'd hate to contribute to his first brain freeze!
My boys were at Corrie's b/c Malia was with me in the pool. I had a big photo shoot for www.HatsWithHair.com. The owner now has underwater hair pieces for women who have lost their hair. I picked the models b/c I have beautiful friends and would much rather people I know be in my pool than hired models who say they can swim then turn out to be non-swimmer litigious people. The hats are fun, don't you agree?!

Dear Tyler, you're 4 months old

Dear Tyler Baby,
I love you.  You're still sweet.  You're such a baby - a real baby now.  You're the right amount of cuddliness, sleepiness, smiles, ticklishness, and pure deliciousness.  You have tight skin that I love to kiss.  You haven't discovered stranger danger yet, so you let anybody hold you.  You did just start to look back and up to see who is holding you, so you're memorizing faces or something now.

You're finally getting some chunk on your thighs.

You like to suck on your fists, usually your left one.  You can gnaw on your thumb or a pacifier, but don't suck on either.  For your thumb, you still have a tight fist shoved tightly into your mouth, so your thumb doesn't really fit in your mouth.
So now you pull things into your mouth.  It's cold so I put blankets on you and find them up around and on your face.  You still can not control your hands enough to go fishing and catch something, but if you feel something, you pull it in.  Your little mouth wants what your eyes see so you have a big mouth snaping turtle reflex.  It's the wettest softest sweetest silliest big mouth bass kiss - so fun.

I wanted to take a picture of you in your new penguin hat from Ivy (by my friend Rachael), but you snapping-turtle-grabbed and nuzzled in and didn't care about me or my goofiness above you.
When I took the distraction away, you weren't happy.
You only like tummy time when it's on MY tummy I think - when we first wake up.
You also don't like your car seat.  You have done better lately - possibly because I didn't have to go in the car line and I could take my time to go places to get your comfortable.
You got to meet your Grandpa Gille!
He came in town for your blessing.
He even sang in the choir for your blessing and sacrament service.
You go to bed in your bed, but always end up here.
I think the Christmas vacation got everybody off schedules
- as if I do schedules, I know.
But you go to bed so late and want to nurse to sleep.
You sleep best when you're snuggled by my side.
You're happy for me, but you do get sad and fussy at bed time now.
You're not loud, but it's sad.
You wake up happy and kicky.  You kick like your heels are on springs.  You alternate kicking your heels out then retract them back into place.  You scoot back off of blankets that way too.  You're not interrested in rolling over yet or in sitting up.  I like that you're still a relexed baby.

Ivy, on the other hand, has been sitting up and crawling and stealing toys!
We celebrated bringing in the new year byyou going to Grandma's house.
More on that later.
I love having a new year's baby:)
This will be a fun year of firsts for you.  You're almost half way through your first year though, that's crazy.  Stay my baby please!
Oh, tonight (10 days after you turned 4 months old) I fed you a couple of spoonfuls of rice cereal while you cried.  You wanted to nurse I think but I'm pretty sure I was out of milk and you should have been sleeping.  I'm in no rush to feed you, but I figured why not.
I love you my little baby boy,
Love, Mommy

Feliz Cinco (y Seis) de Mayo!

Hi, today I had big plans for a bit of fun, a bit of friends, and a bit of work.  I didn't even try to put a bit of cleaning in there.  I need to prioritize:)

First, Dylan woke me up telling me he was dry.  We decided to give the pull ups all to Isaac.  I wasn't 100% awake, and b/c I stayed up editing all night, I went back to sleep.  Then Corrie woke me up.  Dylan aparently asked her who it was at the door, then b/c he knew her, he let her in.  I was sound asleep.  Let the party begin!!!

I put on my anual Cinco de Mayo shirt from my Grandma Gille. (She grew up some in Mexico although she's not Mexican.)

Dylan and Isaac put on their Guadalajara, Mexico futbol shirts from their uncles.  I turned on the Cinco de Mayo music channel, and we had a Mexican hat dance party!!!

We put a hat down and danced to La Cucuracha.  I remember sitting in a creative Mexican restaraunt with my Grandma Gille as a kid.  She translated that song to me and I thought it was so funny.  She was tapping her foot to the beat while it played while we ate.  There was a volcano that would errupt if we were lucky.  We would end the meal with sopa papillas.  I don't know how that's spelled, but I would call them that as I asked for them to be passed to me.  I would bite off a corner, then fill it just so with honey.  I'm sure my dad taught me the "right way" to do that.  They also had powdered sugar on them.  And that's all I remember about that.  Back to today:
Once the living room and play room are cleaned, I let the kids get out the musical instruments, mostly all from my other grandma, Grandma Rebeck.  Today, they wanted them for the hat dance party.  They seemed so appropriate for my little mariachis!

Little Ada came over to play too.  I tried to ballance this hat on her head with no luck.  Oh well.  She didn't mind it.
We ate chips and queso for lunch with limes in our water.
I let Ada lick a slice of lime, but she didn't make any silly faces, she just didn't go to grab it the next time.  Aren't babies supposed to make the silliest faces with lemons/limes?
Oh, Lindsay, she grabbed the spoon then her hat, so it's in the dryer right now.

The kids got sweaty and dirty, so it was time for the pool!
This was Ada's first pool experience, so I'm told.
She wasn't happy about the cold bath at first, but with grapes in her mesh bag thingie, she was easily distracted.
After nap time, Isaac got pink eye.
How does he go from fine to goopy?  Where did he get it?  AAAh, not fun.
I washed our hands, sheets, clothes, toys, etc so not to spread it to the other 4 kids there, then I didn't get to go see my other 3 boys, the Szaszs b/c they catch it easily.
Instead, we went to dinner with Andre and Barbie.  Yay!  It seems like I've been babysitting the last couple of times Steven went to dinner w/ them.
Carmalita's gave them new sombreros!
I tried using pocket cam (that's what I call it) on more of a manual setting, but it doesn't work.  I really don't ever use my Canon on auto, so it irritates me when I can't get the exposure I want with a quick enough shutter speed to capture wiggly boys.
Steven got one on his cell phone (the reason for their above pose).
So, even though it's now officially seis de Mayo, Happy Cinco de Mayo from the fegers!

Beginning of April Pool Party (me & 5 kids)

April 2, 2009
I had all 4 kids +1, Noah and Malia's cousin. We had fun while Dylan and Malia napped. Isaac was really into my oven mits. He used them as punching gloves, then would lay down on them like a pillow (with his hands still in them.)

Jaylon got in the pool first. We took full advantage of that waterproof camera. I had him dive down and get the rocks that Isaac had thrown in the pool. The water temp was 86 or something that day.Malia woke up and joined in on the fun. Then Dylan woke up.Isaac still likes to almost fall in.I caught Noah before his head touched the water. Good thing I didn't have to worry about the camara. I was actually talking to Steven on the phone and I yelled and chucked the phone. I wouldn't attempt 4 kids in the pool by myself. Jaylon was my helper.
