Camping with the Crews Day 1

Six months ago we decided we should go camping. Kory went ahead and signed us up! They found some good spots and it was all set. I thought we were going after work on Thursday but check in is at 1 o'clock so Darren and Cory took the day off. So Stephen decided to take the day off. It is spring break so of course all the kids are off. I didn't get off work until a little after five so I showed up and everything was awesome. Steven got 99% of everything all together and packed and set up including taking the kids and putting up the tent himself.
They ate lunch at McDonalds on the way.
Bam! All set up.
Steven sent me a picture of Julia and I really wanted to not be at work.
We rode out some sun showers and the crews wanted our canopy for burger cooking. But we had it in just the right spot and they were fine.
The big hamburgers and hot dogs were delicious.
Hatchet-chopping ice :)
My fun friend Dori Fagan happened to be camping there too!! She, her mom, and her two kids had already been there a night. They didn't have trees for hanging their new hammocks so let us use them.
Julia bonded with her mom :)
They stayed for the magical s'mores that Corrie had to share.
I didn't even change out of scrubs.
The kids climbed trees and ran around the field behind our camp sites.

Dori and I put clow stick bracelets together and chucked them over our shoulders to the gaggle of kids behind us. So fun.
It POURED that night and Steven stayed up and alert, ready to save the day and evacuate us as needed but we were all safe and sound and dry. The Crews ended up sleeping in their van because their tent didn't hold.

Galentine's month

Galentine's Day is a made up holiday from the show, Parks and Rec to celebrate our girlfriends (AKA gals.)

I never posted about the Step Forward women's mini conference last week. I left the dental hygiene seminar early and felt guilty since I wanted to hear the other two speakers too, but visited all of the vendors and talked with lots of good hygienist friends who I only see at that annual event.  I love my profession and opportunities for helping one another at these CE events. I paid the full [member] price so I figure I helped with the fundraising so it was ok to  leave.
At church, food was delicious, and I saw other good friends. I heard from a good speaker about her life story and "stepping forward" in her PF Flyers vintage sneakers.  Her family fascinates me. It is good to hang with my pretty mom too :)

Tylerism

Ivy, when your mom and dad die, you can do whatever you want to do. Because my dad does whatever HE wants to do. So just wait until your mom and dad die. Then you can watch Starwars.

Tylerism

Did God make bad guys?

I said yes,

Tyler: Why?

Me: God made everybody and some people make bad decisions. They just need a mommy or a teacher to tell them how to make good decisions. Like if you didn't have me, you might think it would be OK to push someone or to steal.

Tyler: Well I have to have you or I wouldn't be born. This is how you wouldn't have me, if I didn't have a body! That's the only way you wouldn't have me. Even when you leave the house you still have me.

Touché

Later in the same car ride, Tyler asked, Hey Ivy, did you know that Jesus made zero bad choices?! Like zero, not even five and not even four. He made zero bad choices. Not even two. Can you believe that?!

Later at home, Tyler wrote some random practice letters on a piece of paper and asked me to write on the paper, "please don't touch this. It is Tyler's." Then he explained, "I wanted to use the sentence,"please" because it is nice and people will want to listen more to it if it is nice to them."
