Football is here

Dylan was right in the tackle when the boys were playing football. 'Tis the season I guess! The next video is where Dylan actually seemed to get scared. It's so funny to watch Dylan want to be a big kid and the big kids want to be little kids.

Pool days are numbered

The water was freezing this weekend! Dylan was apprehensive about putting his fat feet in. He went swimming with Steven but didn't like it. His favorite thing is to play in the bug catcher to see if there are any bugs. Andre keeps it so clean that he's usually out of luck.

Safe in Daddy's arms

We took Dylan to see a dome IMAX movie on Saturday. The screen was literally a huge dome that surrounded us. We saw a dinosaur documentary. Dylan started off on Steven's lap but when the movie started scurried to mine. Once the huge monsterous dinos came out, he really wanted his strong daddy. It was so cute. He sat there looking around him at the movie as I stared at him. He's so cute! I loved watching his reactions.

This is just a funny picture that I cropped so you can see his nose. Such a boy. Oh, and Julie, Dylan needs a haircut too. Steven and his friends want me to let it go crazy and want me to stop giving him crew cuts. (It has been a long time since I've given him a hair cut.) See the poll to the right.

Bed Time

This is the new thing.
The two do this at my house and at Corrie's house. Dance party on the bed! Of course they were actually dancing BEFORE I got the camera. You can see the laid-back-ness of this new past-time from the video though.

Late Morning Stroll

We got off to a late start on our morning walk. It was already almost lunch time. I decided to leave the stroller at home since the park isn't far away. I SHOULD have walked outside and realized that it was over 90 degrees outside. That one cool evening tricked me. Malia and I had jeans on!

Walking there wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't stopped to smell the roses AND watch every kitty cat dissapear and every grass hopper jump away AND every truck pass by. We also had some potential kodak moments I had to capture. Our faces were red and our heads were sweaty. I just wanted to play with sidewalk chalk in the shade.

Dylan is pointing out a truck.

Malia found a grasshopper

Look how far behind they are. I waited in the shade. Dylan is pointing out some bug to Malia. We stopped to play catch. Malia actually side stepped to get closer to Dylan for this picture.

THIS is what we came for? Happy to be in the shade and sitting down

Blowing kisses goodbye

I felt so bad on the way back when the babies were tired and hungry. They kept saying "up, up, up." Malia was crying b/c she was so tired of walking. I picked them both up and carried them on either side of my big tummy for a little over a block. My arms would have given out if I had tried it any longer. I'm not as strong as I think I am. We held hands the rest of the way home so that I could hold them up.
I didn't know if I should feed the sweaty babies first or bathe them first. So I did both. I gave them bites of food in their bubble bath. They gladly went right to sleep after I wore them out. I did too!

Devil Rays Game

Steven's work friends got tickets together for the Rays game last night. Dylan had fun w/ his Uncle Andre and Rita. He paid attention a little bit. It's hard when we're way high in the student section though.

Story time

One of my friends invited me to a story time at a public library a couple of months ago. That one was on Wednesdays when I was usually babysitting or doing something else. I finally went to the closer library with Dylan and saw their story time schedule. It worked out to where we could finally go yesterday. Corrie and Malia went too. Our two kids sat savely on our laps until they felt it was safe b/c the room was so crowded. They liked playing with the bubbles.

Stubborn Eater

Like I said before in the boots post, it was finally a cooler evening so I wanted to eat dinner outside. We decided to meet Steven after work at the Pier downtown by us. I always say that the food's not great, but the view is. So Dylan had some Daddy time while we walked to the end of the pier.

This pic is for you, Steven. (He insisted on making faces in the elevator b/c he thought it was dumb of me to be taking pictures like a tourist when we've been to the pier a million times.)
While we waited for our food, Dylan ran around chasing the birds in the wide open area. I don't know why the pier isn't more crowded. Maybe it's b/c the pier doesn't put forth any extra effort in making it a fun experience or something. This is the reason for this post now. Dylan hasn't been eating well. He's getting kinda picky. I thought this time was b/c he was feeling sick sick so I almost gave in. We ordered the yummy sweet potato fries. Dylan likes to dip things so he liked dipping them in the ranch and applebutter. He'll keep the same fry until it accidentally breaks off in his mouth. It keeps him occupied so I like it. The problem is, fries aren't as healthy as the beans and rice we ordered him. He was being so stubborn and would NOT eat or even taste his food though! He was beign loud and was wanting another french fry. Steven wasn't going to give in. We were outside and the place wasn't that populated, so we let him have his mini-tantrum. We got the check and a to-go box (for his food) pretty quickly b/c of his pouty mood. The funny thing is that as soon as we put his food in the to-go box, he wanted it! So we sat there and let him feed himself. We thought we were victorious in not giving in, but then again, he probably thinks HE's victorious b/c he didn't have to eat out of that plate. He now had RICE on the beans instead of the BEANS on the rice - THAT's what he wanted. He didn't even ask for the pile of fries I set aside for AFTER!

Play Dough

I got this pack of no-name play dough at the dollar store. They liked it!

Yellow Boots

Today was the first day that it was actually breezy and boarderling cool outside! Dylan has been sick so we I've been keeping him as isolated as I could. The cool moist air is supposed to be good for him, so we went to one of my favorite places to take pictures. I put pants on him (which is rare - he's usually in shorts) and he picked out his shoes. They kinda matched, so we went with it. (Thanks again Liam.)

He's into jumping now. He can go up and down stairs fine by himself then likes to jump off of the last step.

Life . . .

Junk? mail

This was just a couple of minutes ago. My camera card ran out so it's a short video. They were throwing the paper and laughing so much. It's fun to make a mess sometimes!

Go Bucs!

We're not big football fans, but why not take the opportunity to dress up Dylan, right?

This is Angier, his friend with him. They were having their own friendly competition on the stairs. Another thing of note on this day is that I had to make a "save" fully clothed when Dylan fell in the pool at Dave and Stacy's house this day. It was pretty funny to the onlookers both that I had to get all wet and that I stupidly thought that Dylan would at least try to make his way to the surface. He was totally relaxed and was sinking in an extended "cartwheel" pattern when I got him.

New and Improved

NOW it's a dining room.

Field Trip

Isn't it a field trip when the moms with mini vans take the kids to some fun far away place? Marcie has the mini van and she fit her 3 month old twins, older daughter, and my two all snugly inside. We also fit two double strollers and 3 diaper bags. What an adventure over the bridge to the fun place we frequent: the Florida Aquarium:)
We got to see people swimming with the sharks. Dylan and Malia liked looking at the twins more than some of the fish.
Look at the alligators!
I love this one, everyone is pictured except for me. It's hard to see the alligators in the tank, but you can see the twins in the reflection!
THIS is why I'm trying to go on more field trips NOW. This will be my OWN bunch of kids minus Kirsten the helper. I'll have Dylan, Malia, and their two new siblings to play with.
